Here We Go Again...Back in the USA.....25th August to 4th September....

Well blog followers Yorkieman and his better half are back for more adventures on their latest road trip in the USA. This time we plan to head north to the New England States for the Fall colours. The main song for this trip has to be Forever Autumn.....Justin Hayward which just happens to be one of our all time favourite songs...
But first we have to extract our home on wheels from the storage facility at Lake Lanier, GA...compared to the other storage facilities we have used this one was not up to par but the only one we could get at the time......much relief to find apart from some mud our rig was in better shape than we had envisaged...however it was a a tester pulling it out avoiding the trailer parked next to it and over thick rutted gravel...4 wheel drive needed. Then on the road to Anderson, SC to get a complete servicing as our home on wheels is now 3 years old....
A good opportunity to spend a very pleasant time in the company of good friends....
Cook Out at Myra & Bill's with Janis & Jimmy and a full moon too.....

Our first American Football Game....sitting on the bleachers watching a junior league game... Bill & Myra's grandson in his first match, great fun even though it was hot hot hot......
Time to collect the rig from Anderson and tow to Lake Keowee, SC...our 4th stay here and this time a prime site....it's a very convenient campsite for shops to stock up the fridge, freezer and store cupboard....temps today reach 97 degrees !! AC working overtime....
On the road again and I had to put in a water-tower for all of our water-tower lovers !!!!!!
It's not smoke to the left but a bug that dared to die on our pristine truck !!!!
From South Carolina to North Carolina and through part of the Appalachian Mountains, elevation 3370ft not quite the Rockies but very pretty....
I've included this photo only for nostalgic reasons....we spent  a wonderful time driving the Blue Ridge Parkway in  2010 in a hired motorhome....that 3 month road trip gave us the bug for our present travels....
Comfort break and lunch stop at the Tennessee Welcome Centre on the I-26.....

Not a very good photo, taken while driving past, but included as this is The Bristol Motor Racetrack.  This short track NASCAR racetrack has very high banking and  a capacity for 160,000 people...we are overnighting in a campsite close by...very quiet as it's not a race weekend :) A great neat campsite, the fireflies gave us a wonderful display and we have excellent wifi hence getting the blog up and running while listening via the BBC Radio 2 I-player to the Elvis v Beatles Day recorded last Monday....lots of great songs and great memories...
At Camp Harris we are settling back down to life on the road....
