18th to 20th Sept Mystic, CT to Salisbury Massachusetts & Area...

Hello blog watchers...sorry for delay in posts but we were without internet for almost a week and then I have been rather tardy in updating blog :(
Heavy sea mist this morning pre departure but soon burns off and we are headed north on I-95, busy traffic through Providence, Rhode Island but more rural when we join the I-495 to avoid Boston although we did encounter another traffic jam for a broken down truck but we knew that driving on the East Coast was going to be more "challenging" than "out west"......of course the song for today is The Bee Gees Massachusetts....also lots of good road songs on the radio today, Wichita Linesman, Route 66 to name a couple...
Our site at Salisbury Beach State Park is a back-in and tight but expertly done by Yorkieman considering it was on his "blind-side" I'm sure my hand signals helped !!!
Time after setting up camp for a good walk along the beach...no internet but 69 TV channels on the antenna :)
Low light pollution last night for a superb night sky and a beautiful morning....
We head out today for a scenic drive south along the coast through the towns of Ipswich and Essex to Rockport....very busy as it is a Saturday and unseasonably hot so like us, folks making the most of the gorgeous weather....
Time for lunchtime sandwich...
And a view of a lighthouse.....also a very popular spot for divers, chatting to a couple of chaps, they said it's easy access to the sea and lots of rocks etc to "dive too"...
A good day seeing some of the Massachusetts coast then a really lovely evening with Dan and Mary Ann at their house on Plum Island which is close to where we  are staying. We met them on our trip to Alaska in 2009....
This pretty pampas type grass is very prolific in the Salisbury Beach area....a neat little road only found due to a road work detour....
Sunset from our site at Salisbury Beach State Park....
A view across the water to Plum Island from our campsite....
New Hampshire is only a few miles from our campsite and no sales tax and a very good wine and liquor store recommended by Dan and Mary Ann !!! Time for a restock...
Tomorrow Boston.....
